Hey Cloakers!

A lot of our efforts these past couple of weeks have revolved around our new Data Deletion services. A common piece of feedback we received was that people wanted to know more details about the process itself. So you should be seeing more updates to the Data Deletion log, with more granular information, in the days to come. Additionally, we’ve added support to help manually delete your data on sites where we cannot just DO it auto-magically. Extension 2.1.0 should be launching soon, implementing several fixes from the 2.0 launch.Android/iOS 2.18 launched this week. It included:

  • Support for user-input data deletion
  • Crash fixes for a variety of unexpected data situations
  • More infrastructure work for Cloaked Pay on both platforms!

Until next time!

Cloakers (specifically our Android-focused ones), we had to release Android 2.15.1:

  • Hotfix to fix a crash for anyone updating from 2.14.1 to 2.15.0. <facepalm facepalm facepalm>
  • Massive apologies to our Android users on this one. Android Database Migrations are sometimes a finicky sort and we spun a LOT of plates all at once this past Friday. That said, we've run into this type of crash previously and we have typically hotfixed it immediately, reducing the area of impact to only a few users.
  • In this most recent example, we DID catch this crash immediately and spun up the hotfix release late-Friday.....which promptly sat in the approval process until about 5amEST Monday (the turnaround for submission on an Android build is USUALLY a couple of hours so we were super confused/worried as the weekend went on and we saw crash numbers increasing). So again for those affected, apologies. Get your Android app updated to 2.15.1 and you should be good to go!

Keep it cloaked.

Cloakers, we’re back.

I know we were silent last week. We’ve been deep in the Cloaked mines, working on something preeeeeeetttty preeeeeetttttty pretty cool.

Early last week we dropped Mobile 2.14.0, which had a couple of neat features for each platform

  • On iOS: you can now manage and create brand new Cloaked identities during the password autofill process! You can even edit your existing identities if you need an identifier that doesn’t YET exist on your identity. No more bouncing back and forth between your app and web browser!
  • On Android: If you look at your bottom nav bar, you’ll see this new “Wallet” tab. If you go there, you can sign up for the waitlist to try out Cloaked Pay when we launch that service! From this point forward, we’re going to be adding all sorts of infrastructure to the iOS and Android apps to support Cloaked Pay (when it launches, Date TBD)

Then we dropped Mobile 2.14.1:

  • We’ve removed the ability to generate +44 UK numbers for select websites and services within Cloaked. This is due to changes in UK policy/and law which will prohibit Cloaked from continuing to generate these numbers.
  • This means that services that do not accept our current generation VoIP-based (Voice over Internet Protocol) numbers will for the meantime be unable to use Cloaked Numbers.
  • We ARE working on a longer-term solution to update Cloaked Number Generation using VOIP and eSIM technology. It just needs a little time to bake as we work through the complexities. We’re on it.

THENNNNN we dropped Mobile 2.15 AND Dashboard 1.17.0 which includes a spicy new feature to all paid subscription customers:

  • Now, don’t get too freaked out about this but it’s highly likely a bunch of your personal data (ex: SSN, Address, Phone Numbers, Family Members, etc) are just OUT THERE on the ol’ internet, being sold by data brokers for profit. I know. We hate it too!
  • To that point: Take back control of your digital identity with our newest feature: Cloaked Data Removal. Cloaked can scan your digital identity for potential risks, find out where your data is and swiftly remove it from those online data brokers, ensuring your identity is secure.
  • Once deleted, you can Cloak your identity across all platforms to remain safe. It’s waaaaaaaaay harder for data brokers to track your activity when you are using many different emails and phone numbers for your various accounts and services!
  • This new feature is available with every paid subscription and can reduce your risk of identity theft, scams, and hacking. So check it out!

Until next time. Keep it cloaked.

Patch Notes for Week of 5/10

Cloakers. Y’all. We did a lot this week. Like….a LOT a lot. Let’s take an eyeball on the waterfall of work that was this week:Dashboard 1.16.3 (mon)

  • Several UI fixes for signup flow
  • Many performance updates

iOS 2.13.0 (mon)

  • Fix for subscription renewal reminders appearing for non-subscribed users
  • Updated list of benefits on subscription upsell screen. Gotta make sure we tell you about that 1 million dollars in identity theft insurance.
  • Improved Identity searching

Android 2.13.0 (mon)

  • Updated the Inbox filters do it’s an all-in-one menu
  • Improved Identity searching

Extension 1.12.0 (tues)

  • Several site-specific fixes for the extension not properly recognizing field
  • More infrastructure for upcoming Cloaked Pay feature

Android 2.13.1 (wed)

  • Fix for a crash that was occurring when you had a phone contact that didn’t have a reply number attached. It MIGHT have been triggered by syncing your phone contacts while in a weird state? In theory, that should be A-OK now.

iOS 2.13.1 / Android 2.13.2 (fri)

  • We needed to get some infrastructure updates in to support a new onboarding flow for new Cloaked folks.
  • Now…this COULD have been out on Thursday but “weird stepdad with arbitrary rules” Apple got mad about the Cloaked Pay waitlist…like, existing? We’re not sure what’s up with that either but you can still sign up for the waitlist on Android and Dashboard for now. Don’t worry, Cloaked Pay IS coming to iOS when we launch it. It’s just Fruitcrimes™ to have a waiting list?

Dashboard 1.16.4 (fri)

  • Support for the aforementioned “new onboarding flow”.

We certainly did a lot last week. We definitely have some more stuff on deck for this week but as you can see, our velocity is really picking up as we roll towards some pretty significant feature releases! Have a great week and keep on cloaking!

Release Notes for the week of 4/19

Hello Cloakers!

We’re late on the release notes. I know! What the heck! Normally, we have this whole “no release” Friday thing and that lets us look back and see what we actually put out in the days prior. Buuuuuuuuut….then we had some important stuff come up and “no release” Friday” turned into “what if we released on Friday” Friday. So now that it’s Monday, let’s take a look at what’s been coming through the pipe:

Dashboard released version 1.15.10

  • Visibility fixes for some smaller screen views
  • Fixed an inbox compose issues that was breaking the UX for trial users
  • Several minor UI fixes.
  • More foundational work on Cloaked Pay. Also added the waitlist for people to sign up on. It’s coming…

Dashboard ALSO released version 1.16.0 (Friday releases, amirite?)

  • Support for some upcoming new onboarding flows
  • Navigation fixes for “getting started” checklist
  • Fixed the Save/Cancel buttons on an identity’s Secure Notes
  • Even MORE foundational work for Cloaked Pay

On the Mobile side, we released version 2.12.0!

  • UI improvements to align the iOS and Android experience
  • Several minor UI bugs throughout the app
  • Improvements to overall inbox activity fetching performance

iOS only:

  • You can now compose messages directly to your approved contacts!
  • Improvements to Inbox filters
  • Fixed several minor UI bugs

Android only:

  • Fixed users ability to turn push notifications on and off on Androids 10-12
  • Fixed a few more one-off crashes than we’ve observed in the wild

So actually…TECHNICALLY…2.12.0 didn't come out until 4/23 (which technically makes it a this week release and not last week)…and it's for a really silly reason. As we’ve been working on the Mobile apps, different platforms teams have different priorities and roadmaps so we’ve had cases where certain bits of UI or UX are different between iOS and Android. So we did a little work this release to try and bring some of those differences into an alignment. We put that as a note in the release notes for the app! Seems fine, right? Generally positive? WRONG! <Price is Right horn sfx> Apple apparently doesn’t like you to even SAY the word “Android” in your release notes. Say what now? This isn’t high school. You both exist! lol. So the mobile apps went out the door this week, a little later than intended. But….also….like….Seriously, you can’t just CHANGE THE NOTES? The app is fine but the notes are bad so you have to resubmit the whole app and wait in the queue again? SHEESH. Anyways, LESSON LEARNED I GUESS. 😂

We truly hope your week is less silly than how ours has started.

Cloaked: Encrypt more than just credentials

Cloakers, near and far! How goes the week?

Today, we want to highlight a part of Cloaked that you may not have realized was even there. Yes, every Cloaked identity is a protected vault for your username, password, cloaked email, cloaked phone number and even one-time passwords….but maybe you need to save even more -> Did you know about all the custom data you can save in the “Other Information” section?

First off (despite being second), you have “Secure Notes” -> Need to make a general note about this particular identity. Is this the Amazon account you use only for buying hair dye? Maybe this is a good place to remind yourself of that.

After that you have the more general “Add More Information” which can be a lot of different things:

  • A billing address
  • An authentication key (like a recovery key!)
  • Banking info (maybe you’re like me and need your routing number/acct number often enough to be annoying)
  • An important date (like a card expiration)
  • A subscriber ID number (like on your insurance card)
  • A specific secondary URL (maybe directly to a site’s payment portal)
  • More text (Why not have multiple fields? You can’t post the entire Great Gatsby in there. Sorry.)

All of these are savable in the “Other Information” section of an identity! Even better, all of this information is protected with the same client-side encryption that your usernames, password and activity are!

Your relationship with important sites can require more than a simple username and password. Use Cloaked to keep that data safe as well!

Patch Notes for the week of April 12th

Cloakers near and far! Here’s what we put out in the ecosystem over the course of this past week

Mobile Launched Version 2.11.0 - So the official release notes say the old classic “Bug fixes and general improvements” but that’s just woefully vague. Let’s pop the top off this update and see what’s inside it

Both iOS and Android:

  • Added some nicer looking “empty states” for when you have an empty inbox or search results
  • Added some support for new signup campaigns
  • Some UI changes targeted at the new Home Screen (thank you all for the feedback, btw)
  • Added a notification to let you know if you hit your phone number limit

iOS only

  • More prep work for Cloaked Pay’s launch. Curious about that? Sign up for the waitlist in the app!
  • Fixed a bug where you can get stuck on a blank screen after setting up 2FA
  • Fixed an error sending emails to new contacts
  • Made the transition to this very Cloaked Uncloaked page look better
  • Fixed the prompt for people to review our app. We want all those stars, please and thank you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Android only

  • Performance Improvements for push notifications
  • Fix for push notifications not showing logos
  • Fix for a case where trial users weren’t able to see subscription prices
  • Fix for not being able to name the new identity you are creating
  • Fix for contact blocking putting the app into a non-responsive state
  • Fixes for some one-off crashes we’ve detected in the wild

On the Dashboard side, we launched version 1.15.9 which contains:

  • Users are now able to see recent identities on homepage
  • Added action items on Homepage
  • Added Inbox quick view on Homepage
  • Fix for showing incorrect pagination numbers on the inbox
  • Added more indications if you have an unnamed identity (you really should name these so you know what they are for!)
  • Several minor UI fixes around the home screen
  • Performance improvements around data and identity fetching

Also, as a reminder - We launched in Canada last week!

AT&T Data Mishap: Navigating Privacy with Cloaked

Hey Cloakers!

Welcome to another edition of "Cloaked: Uncloaked," where we dive deep into the cyber vortex to bring you the latest on digital safety and privacy. Today's topic? The recent AT&T data breach – a stark reminder of our fragile digital security in an age where breaches seem not just common but expected.

Check this: AT&T just spilled the beans (sooooo many beans) on a massive data spill affecting a cool 73 million of us. This isn't your average "oops, we lost an email" scenario; we're talking names, emails, home addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, and those secret Social Security numbers, all taking a wild ride to the dark web since 2019.

Cool. Thanks, AT&T. <sarcasm voice>

Is my Data in the Digital Abyss?

It's the question on everyone's lips: "Is my data out there?" If you're an AT&T customer, past or present, the unfortunate answer could be yes.Feeling a tickle of worry? AT&T’s got their roll call ready, reaching out to the 7.6 million current members and the 65.4 million alumni of their services. No word from them yet? Their account safety page is the next best stop to check:

https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1159574/

Consider this breach the universe’s nudge to up your digital wellness game. And who better to lead your personal digital wellness journey than Cloaked? Cloaked is offering a shield of anonymity for your personal info. Think email masking, unbreakable passcodes, and a whopping $1 million identity theft protection (for subscribed US-based users). With Cloaked, your personal data isn't just protected; it's practically untouchable.

What's the Move? Post-AT&T Data Adventure

Step one: Deep breaths – slowly in through the nose, hold for a few seconds, slowly out through the mouth.Step two: Let’s get your digital hygiene from "meh" to "wow." Dusty passwords? Give them a makeover. Personal info protection? Cloaked's got the wardrobe for it. With a 14-day trial that's freer than free Wi-Fi, you're all set to become the ninja of the net.

So, as we put a pin in today's digital drama, let's not just dwell on the AT&T tale of woe. Instead, let’s embrace it as the perfect kick to get our cyber selves in shape. With Cloaked in your corner, you’re not just dodging data breaches; you’re strutting through the digital world with confidence.

Keep it Cloaked.

Update Notes for Week of 3/29

We’ve got a lot of cool new stuff floating around the Cloakiverse in the last week or so. Let’s do a quick tour through the highlights:

Dashboard v1.15.7

  • Identity search is now a filter! We filter your identity page right on the page and it should be noticeably faster!
  • We prefetch and store inbox activity so your inbox pages load faster!
  • Updates to Autocloaking AI (we talked about this in the last article!)
  • Lots of bug/UI fixes

Extension 1.10.0

  • We stealth-released this last week. Not a lot of specific user-facing changes but it included a LOT of performance, autoclaving and stability improvements overall.

Mobile 2.10.0 (iOS and Android)

  • We added a new “Home” view to replace the old “Create” tab. You’ll find plenty of helpful links to other pieces of the Cloaked experience but also still be able to create new identities with a single tap!
  • We moved the Profile Info, Log out and a few other functions into a new slide-out side menu (just tap the profile icon in the upper left of the Home screen to access it)
  • iOS ONLY - We moved the Settings menu into that slide-in side menu as well. This is to make room for a new tab for the Cloaked Pay Wallet (which at the moment will allow subscribed users to sign up for the new service’s wait list)
  • We added a new feature that will let you know if we detect your email or password as being part of a data breach.
  • Many bug fixes and improvements

As always, get in touch with us through our various customer service chat portals OR just shoot us an email: [email protected] with any feedback you might have!

Roku Data Breach

Hey, Cloakers!

Welcome back to "Cloaked: Uncloaked" – your go-to spot for everything new and noteworthy in the Cloakiverse. Admittedly, we also have an email newsletter and a blog (and you should also check those out too)…but we are the BEST. 😆

OK REAL TALK - Today, we're diving into a breach. And not just any breach – we're talking about a whopping 15,000 Roku accounts hacked. Yes, you heard that right. Is yours next? We certainly hope not. Goodness, there seem to be a LOT of these. 😬

Let's break it down. Roku recently shed light on a security breach affecting 15,363 accounts. Hackers, using a technique known as credential stuffing, gain unauthorized access to stored credit card information. This isn't just about unauthorized binge-watching; it's about your financial security being at risk. Some affected accounts even had their login details altered and were sold online for merely 50 cents each. This could mess up WAY more than just your watch history.

Why does this matter to you?

Well, if the idea of someone else catching up on your favorite show using your account doesn't bother you, maybe the thought of them going on a shopping spree with your credit card will. This breach highlights a critical vulnerability in our online practices and the ever-increasing savvy of cybercriminals.

But fear not! Here's what you can do to protect your digital presence:

  • Head over to HaveIBeenBreached.com to check if your credentials have been compromised.
  • Update your passwords regularly and continue using cloaked’s password manager to create strong, unique passwords for each account.
  • Enable two-factor authentication wherever possible for that extra security layer.
  • Stay sharp and informed by following trusted tech and digital safety news sources.
  • Don’t share your streaming service passwords. Sure, it lets you split the cost but every person with access could be an attack vector on YOUR credit card.

Don't just sit back and wait for your account to be the next "feature" on a hacker's watchlist. Take control of your online security with Cloaked. We're here to keep you informed, protected, and ahead of the game.

Your digital safety is our priority, and we're here to ensure it's never compromised.

Until next time, Cloakers: Stay safe. Stay secure. Keep your streaming accounts to yourself. Your mom doesn’t need to watch “Blue Bloods” on your login THAT badly. The only thing scarier than a horror movie marathon is a hacker on a spending spree with your credit card!

Securing Your Health: Navigating the Change Healthcare Crisis and Protecting Your Personal Data

Hey Cloakers!

So, what's on the agenda today? Well, it's not exactly the fun meme from our Discord (though we love those too), but it is something a tad more serious and certainly impactful. We're talking about a cyber security crisis unfolding over the past couple of weeks.

A major player in the healthcare IT sector, Change Healthcare, has been hit with a crippling outage. This isn't just about delayed medical billing; it's a breach that potentially puts millions of personal health information at risk. Yikes, right?

Why should this matter to you?

Because in this digital era, your health data isn't just a bunch of numbers and notes in a doctor's office. It's a gold mine for the wrong hands, capable of impacting your life in ways you might not even want to imagine.

But hey, we're not here to just spread doom and gloom. Knowledge is your armor, and staying informed is the first step towards protection. If you're caught up in this mess, keep an eye on your accounts for anything fishy. And this goes without saying, but make sure your personal info is as secure as possible.

Don't just stop there, though. Ask your healthcare providers the tough questions. How are they safeguarding your data? What are their steps in response to such outages? Demand transparency and security. After all, it's your right. In the Cloakiverse, we believe in empowering our community. Stay alert, stay informed, and most importantly, take action. Your family's privacy and health information isn't just a concern; it's a priority.

Catch you on the next update, and remember, we're all in this together. Let's keep our digital world safe and secure.

New Releases and Patch Notes for Week of 3/15/24

The Cloaked Team Released App Version 2.9.0 and Dashboard Version 1.15.6 this week!

Notable Changes for Dashboard 1.15.6:

  • We’re now displaying a list of websites & companies that have recently been data breached on the Dashboard homepage (along with a link to info about the breach). This is to raise awareness of what sites people SHOULD be making Cloaked identities for and/or changing their existing Cloaked-generated credentials.
  • Fixed an issue where an activity search with no results was displaying incorrect/false results
  • Fixed a display issue on the existing subscription popups and banners
  • Made several copy adjustments throughout the Dashboard.

Notable Changes for iOS 2.9.0:

  • Added a compose button on the Identity page (like Android has) so you can easily send an email, call or text from a single button
  • Cleaned up the identity page so you only have to look at identifiers that you have created
  • Added an edit mode to make it easier to intentionally add new data (and make it harder to accidentally add things you didn’t intend to). This improvement WILL be coming to Android in the near future.
  • Fixed an issue where certain emails would show up blank
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t manually add an email contact
  • Added a warning in case you try to delete potentially sensitive data by accident.

Notable Changes for Android 2.9.0:

  • You can now download & use Cloaked on Android Tablets. We plan to improve the tablet experience in the near future so let us know if you have any feedback and we’ll get to work!
  • Improved the loading speed of emails in the Inbox. iOS will be doing a similar improvement in the near future.
  • The Compose button on the identity page is now able to start calls and texts, instead of just emails.
  • Fixed an issue with sending referral invites not actually sending
  • Fixed an issue with failing to display certain types of call activities in the call log
  • Fixed broken selection actions on the call log
  • Fixed various display and UI sizing bugs

And then while we were writing this, both mobile platforms released App version 2.9.1 (in which we found that the app needed a little extra support for a new user promotion we’re running). By the way, this is a GREAT time to remind you about the new user referral program we do: If you get a new user to sign up for a subscription, you both get rewarded! (See the Settings screen in the App or the Profile dropdown menu on the Dashboard for more info)

Finally, we asked our Customer Support Lead for a funny meme this week. He gave us this.

Thanks, Lucas. <frantically changes a few identities>

Have a great week, Cloakers!

Introducing Cloaked: "Uncloaked"

Hey Cloakers!

You MAY remember this section as "Cloaked Daily". Well as it turns out, "DAILY" was a bit of a misnomer. We're giving this a slightly different title "Cloaked: Uncloaked" and maybe a slightly broader focus. Predominantly, we'll be using this page as a place to communicate new releases and feature updates across the platform. Did we launch a cool feature? Did we fix a bug a bunch of people were annoyed about? Did we hear about a big ol' data breach that maybe you want to take some action on? This is a great place to tell you about it.

Did someone post a funny meme on our Discord that got a lot of likes? Indeed they did so here you go:

Ultimately, we want to use this as a tool to keep all of you informed as to what's going down in the multiple areas of the Cloakiverse. So expect to see more posts and hear a lot more from us in this space!

Chick-Fil-A Data Breach 2023: What Happened, Who Was Affected, and Steps to Protect Yourself

In March, Chick-Fil-A served up a not-so-delicious announcement, revealing a “fowl” play data breach on their mobile app, which "fried" the personal details of approximately 2% of their app-loving patrons. The company discovered the breach when they noticed unusual login activity occurring within an internal account, and immediately took steps to isolate the incident and fortify against further attacks.

It is good that the company pecked away at the problem when they spotted unusual login activity, swiftly isolating the breach and fortifying their digital coop. However, customers have filed a class action lawsuit stating that the company took two months to notify them of the breach, potentially violating their rights.

Cloaked Sharing is Live!

Check out this week's changelog with new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes.

Mobile App:

  • Your mobile app is getting upgraded to version 1.7.0
  • Support for Identity Sharing ▶ You can now share identity information via encrypted links with trusted family and friends.
  • Security Upgrade UX Improvements ▶ This won't apply to MOST of you but we definitely have some users who are still hanging around on an earlier version of encryption. You’re still safe, but definitely upgrade! You'll get access to new features! And, you will be on the highest Cloaked level of security.
  • iOS: Fixed a weird bug where an email or phone number was not copying consistently from the identity view.
  • Android: Fixed a (different) weird bug where the app sometimes logged you out when you use our identity autofill in your mobile device.
  • Android: Turns out you could save ANY text string as your "birthday" on the Cloaked website. The Android app really didn't like that so we fixed the crash and kindly asked our website team to stop letting people save "The Great Gatsby" in the birthday field.

The Cloaked Ecosystem just added some major interface updates and product features

Over the last few weeks we’ve updated all four of our products. We’re so excited to see what the community thinks of these updates.

All three Cloaked products have received a major overhaul over the past several weeks. Here’s the rundown of what’s been changed:

📱 Mobile launched a massive overhaul bringing users a brand new user interface, where identities with phone numbers and email addresses can be generated with a single tap!

  • Each phone number and email address can now forward to any personal number or inbox with customizable settings and notification controls
  • One unified place listing all your virtual identities
  • The ability to sync your contacts with your personal device to enable caller ID
  • A more intuitive search experience
  • The ability to autofill encrypted data without sacrificing security

🌐 Extension released a swath of performance updates that make the extension lighter and quicker, while increasing compatibility with other password managers.

  • Performance improvements have made the extension incredibly lightweight meaning that even with hundreds of tabs open the extension doesn’t noticeably affect performance.
  • The extension doesn’t overlap with chrome or another password manager’s autofill when you’re on a website trying to log in.
  • Filling addresses is as easy as clicking in an address field and clicking fill, making filling in forms even quicker.

💻 Dashboard rolled out a complete overhaul of the activity portion of the product as well as a litany of other improvements!

  • Completely redesigned activity focused on making emails and texts quicker and easier to find, read, and compose.
  • Identity creation and details were overhauled, now with predictive website matching and a persistent right hand column UI.
  • Improved password manager importer making it simpler and easier to switch to Cloaked.
  • Cloaked offboarding is simpler now with an easy data export process.
  • Support is a chat message a way with on site support chat.

Improving passwords with added security

We've added customization to passwords when you're signing up for accounts in real-time. We've also added some mobile security features like 15min Biometrics time-out and more…

– 🔑 Passwords just got better on extension! You can now customize the password generation settings when filling in a password field so that they meet pesky password requirements some sites have.

– Cloaked can now generate cloaked usernames when you’re creating a new identity. This works on dashboard and extension.

– Fixed an extension error where really long passwords would cause encryption to crash, passwords are now capped at 128 characters.

– Improve the logic for showing one time password and verification emails. They should show up more consistently now.

– Mobile added security feature to lock the app after 15min of inactivity.

– Mobile UI fixes on search, cloak details, and animations throughout.

– Fixed bugs with attachments in emails and SMS.

AGAIN? - A short article on why we pester you to download your recovery key so often

Hey there, fellow Cloakers!

Ever been stuck at the "Forgot your password?" page, sweating because you just can't remember it? <wipes palms> Yup, we've ALL been there. So let’s talk about a critical piece of your Cloaked account’s security — Your recovery key! It’s your golden ticket back into your account (and more importantly, to your ever so critical encrypted data). So, let’s dive into why it’s mega-important to download and store this key like the digital treasure it is.

1. Locked Out? Not You!

  • Your Cloaked recovery key is like having a master key to your digital house. Lose your password? No problem. This key is your secret weapon against getting permanently locked out. Give us your username and your recovery key and we’ll have you back into your Cloaked account in no time. Treat it like the Holy Grail of access—it's THAT important.

2. Safe and Sound Storage Solutions

  • Store it in a couple of safe spots—maybe a separate (but secure) cloud storage drive, maybe on a thumb drive you hide in a safe. This way, no matter what happens, you’ve got a backup. Just don’t scribble it on a post-it note and stick it to your monitor, ok?

3. Digital Do’s

  • Storing it on your devices? Make sure you’re using a secure, encrypted spot that no one would think to look. Think of it as hiding your diary under a false bottom in your drawer. And hey, keep that device updated and locked down tight. Sometimes that means making sure you have a more modern phone that can run the latest version of your platform’s OS.

4. On-the-Go Guarding

  • For the mobile mavens using Cloaked on their smartphones, make sure you’re using those nifty features like hidden folders or secure storage. It’s like having a secret compartment in your digital wallet!

5. Your Home Base

  • If you’re storing your key somewhere like your home or office, think top-secret hideaway. A secure spot where only you (or someone super trustworthy) can get to it, protected from both prying eyes and any unexpected disasters. AGAIN: No post-it notes.

6. Stay Sharp Online

  • Last but not least, keeping your recovery key safe means keeping your entire digital life secure. Use strong passcodes, update regularly, and be on guard against sketchy links or downloads. It’s all about keeping your digital doors locked and your windows bolted.

Conclusion

By securing your key properly, you're not just protecting access to your accounts; you’re armoring up against all sorts of digital mischief. So, next time you log in, take a moment to ensure your recovery key is as secure as your online identity. And remember, Cloakers, staying secure doesn’t have to be a chore—it can be as cool as being part of a secret club. Keep it locked, keep it safe, and keep rocking the digital world securely!Catch you on the flip side, Cloakers! Stay safe and stealthy out there!
